<br />
Happy first Sunday of Advent. Is everyone ready for Christmas? I try to not get caught up in the frantic pace of this season but still manage to stay busy...maybe I should rephrase that and say my DAUGHTER manages to keep me busy. lol. Between that busy-ness and a lengthy migraine phase I haven't had too much time or energy to craft. But I thought I'd share a few more projects from November.<br />
<br />
A friend commissioned me to create a birthday card for her son's birthday, who loves hippos and pandas and she also wanted to get a card I had already shared on social media for her daughter who loves pigs. So here are those cards.<br />
<br />
Since I had neither a hippo nor panda stamp set I had to get creative. I mean, I could've ordered those things but why when Pinterest is so rich with inspiration, am I right? I do own the MFT BB Beary Special stamp set and altered the bear to look like a panda. Then I wanted to find a way to use him on a card fit for a teen boy and remembered I had seen some fabulous comic book style cards. I used my Brother Scan N Cut2 to create the frame and the Birthday sentiment and Voila!<br />
<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I don't recall if I shared this card on my blog before, but this is the card I shared on other social media that my friend requested for her daughter who loves pigs. I used a Stampingbella set "especially for you Petunia" and some new to me Waffle Flower Crafts dies. I absolutely L O V E the die set and the way this card turned out. </div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Both cards were well received and have special places in each of the kid's rooms. It made my heart happy to hear that the recipients enjoyed their cards and I'm honored that I had a small part in making their special day maybe a bit more special.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Another card I made back in October was this one for my niece. I used the MFT Polynesian Paradise stamps to create the bouquet of tropical flowers. I also used some MFT dies: the die-namics square peek-a-boo window the scalloped rectangle from the MFT Blueprints 27 set.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgnAp2SJUtYen3DLk5tgiHCwmdH9-mu19zPuwDqridZ0Ix2xMfLOxUC3JAirlxxFn_NiyIujx1mDK54CAcAnXxLBnzYKD55PEAQbvXKyonKK73Ok0_mSiNNmNo0dKaCId1mE1sNn-Kg-okV/s1600/IMG_1333.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1196" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgnAp2SJUtYen3DLk5tgiHCwmdH9-mu19zPuwDqridZ0Ix2xMfLOxUC3JAirlxxFn_NiyIujx1mDK54CAcAnXxLBnzYKD55PEAQbvXKyonKK73Ok0_mSiNNmNo0dKaCId1mE1sNn-Kg-okV/s400/IMG_1333.jpg" width="298" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I had some glitter Thickers and used them for the number "15". They were the perfect size for the square. Some enamel dots were the perfect finishing touch to add a bit of whimsy but the overall feel was still clean, simple, and even a bit sophisticated.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I think decorating the envelope whenever possible makes the card even more special. So I stamped the front...</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Going back in time even more, here's a pop up card I made for my brother back in August for his very special milestone birthday. I used my ScanNCut2 to create the box and then decorated it. I can't remember if the balloons were from a Cricut cartridge or if I used the ScanNCut? The puppies are from a Penny Black stamp set and I used some Thickers for the large focal number and the other numbers and stars were cut from glitter paper with the ScanNCut. </div>

<br />
While I haven't been blogging much lately, I have managed to create some cards. It was a wonderful surprise to find one of my recent card creations on the MFT Blog. So exciting! Thank you #mftstamps<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
This card came about when I heard of a boy, Jacob Thompson, who's dying of cancer and this may be his last Christmas. His wish was to just receive a ton of Christmas cards. So, I used the irresistibly cute "Happy Pawlidays" stampset by MFT and came up with this design. Since a few of my frequently used alcohol markers are running dry (awaiting re-inkers in the mail) I used my Tombow brush markers for a watercolor look. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
So, that's my share for today. Do head over to the MFT Blog and check out their <a href="http://www.cardchallenges.com/search/label/mftspotted" target="_blank">You've Been Spotted</a> post to see all the other wonderful projects that were spotted this week.</div>

<br />
Just dropping by to quickly share a few winter and holiday cards I've made using the MFT September Card Kit. If you love puzzles, this kit is perfect cause it has the snow globe die and so many accessory pieces and they're super tiny. Unfortunately they sold out of the kit, but you can now purchase the die separately. Also, the diamond dust is very cool in the shaker. Anyway, here are some of the cards I made using the kit and I plan on making many more.<br />
<br />
Here's the first one I made. I really liked the design or layout but I had major regrets about using the liquid appliqué to create the snow. It was just too much. So I took it apart and recycled the card base and the word and made a new card...sans the liquid appliqué and that turned out so much better to my eyes. Although, I'm not entirely sure why the card bases look so different when they should look identical but the picture on the right is truer to the actual color.<br />
<br />

Well, that's it for now for my holiday cards. If you follow me on Instagram you may have noticed that I made some other cards as well. I'll post about those later. I'm trying to build up my stash of birthday cards but got a little distracted by the card kit. lol. Who can relate?</div>

<br />
Here are the projects I entered in the MFT 2017 Design Star contest. I know I probably won't win (not saying that because I'm a pessimist...just being realistic....and also I've seen all the other WAY more AMAZING entries. lol) but it challenged me to try some new techniques and to just make something.<br />
<br />
Anyway, the first card I entered in the Innovation category. I had intended it to light up once you pull the slider tab, but couldn't figure out how to hide some of the mechanism since the copper part of the wire needed to stay loose...and I didn't just want it to light up by pressing on a designated spot. So, I made it a simple slider card. It still has the LED light because I couldn't bear to tear the entire card apart to dig it out. lol<br />
<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
The next category I entered was the CAS (clean and simple) category and this, for me, is a real challenge. I love adding lots of details, dimension, and colors to my cards. White space, at least when I make a card, looks incomplete. When I look at the other entries they look so effortless and perfectly designed. And then......there's mine....</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
It looks a little bland and top-heavy but I love using copper colored embossing powder on fall sentiments so that's my favorite part about this card besides that super cute harvest mouse.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
Oh, and then there's the card that JUST DIDN'T GET FINISHED IN TIME. The struggle, people! Why is September so busy?! I thought I'd have lots of time to craft with the kiddos back in school...clearly I was mistaken. TBH I really didn't even think I would enter the Coloring Virtuoso category at all...but around dinner time I got the idea for the card. But there was so much going on between late errands, kiddo pickups and drop-offs, I literally met myself coming and going and in between I tried to design the card and just figuring out the masking took 3 tries. Even the final card has a mistake but I wasn't starting over yet again so I found a way to cover it up...ish. Anywho, even though this card didn't get done until 2am...4 hours past the entry deadline, I still wanted to share it real quick. Of all the cards I entered, this one might have stood a chance a winning; I'm really happy with how it turned out.</div>

I've never done this much masking on a card before in my life. #maskingisnojoke lol. I have much newfound respect for all you masking geniuses out there.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
Hope this post gave you some inspiration. And even if you don't think your project is "good enough" to enter in a contest...do it anyway! You'll inspire someone just to TRY, which is ultimately all that matters, and you'll learn so much in the process.</div>

<br />
I have a quick card to share that I created for this week's <a href="http://www.cardchallenges.com/search/label/sketchchallenge" target="_blank">MFTWSC335</a>. Used lots of different MFT stamps: Mermazing, I Knead You, More Essential Sentiments, and Ocean Pals.<br />
<br />
I used Spectrum Noir markers to color in the images and used both distress inks and MFT inks to stamp the algae and ocean plants. The pretty background paper is from a 6x6 pad by Molly & Rex...those papers are so beautiful and I found them at my local Michael's.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiXgKXN6LMH6NL_v0N11_eZY03ns1kFte-LHNHp2i95u_4KBrOx8qh8v9PeWbQYJUQsZ6DFsCg9bNmIdGa4qjHCr1H32xFpH-kaeZ4zMtmnXDfD5yh6ZqJZZhcRmykRUd4gYF2bXcyhdk9H/s1600/20170604_193631.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="900" data-original-width="1600" height="360" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiXgKXN6LMH6NL_v0N11_eZY03ns1kFte-LHNHp2i95u_4KBrOx8qh8v9PeWbQYJUQsZ6DFsCg9bNmIdGa4qjHCr1H32xFpH-kaeZ4zMtmnXDfD5yh6ZqJZZhcRmykRUd4gYF2bXcyhdk9H/s640/20170604_193631.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
To diffuse the image of the kitty a bit to make her look more like she's on the other side of glass/water I used a piece of vellum and cut the top with a curvy edge die (from Mama Elephant's Landscape Trio) to give the illusion of water movement....but to be honest it's barely noticeable and you could save that step and just cover the entire back with vellum.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi1VbOq_Y4PTGsY5u63sm21Kk0lXc_vYCMuu_2G9vyd77Z4b5-3rh8TyVvABhbvE5_fUx2xRdQzkKeLqSDwAjNd5CluTeKbIgx4fdKWKvc0VKSbMbhVnTF0RrvcG4ZZsfqm68JVfPNXNJFU/s1600/IMG_0701.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi1VbOq_Y4PTGsY5u63sm21Kk0lXc_vYCMuu_2G9vyd77Z4b5-3rh8TyVvABhbvE5_fUx2xRdQzkKeLqSDwAjNd5CluTeKbIgx4fdKWKvc0VKSbMbhVnTF0RrvcG4ZZsfqm68JVfPNXNJFU/s640/IMG_0701.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
I used the same die to cut the bottom of the background paper. The assembly was the trickiest part but it ended up not being too bulky and I only used one layer of foam tape on select elements. The foam tape was actually thinner than the fun foam I used to frame the scene and create the "tank". I actually used some thin packaging for the "glass" front of the tank. The frame I cut with my ScanNCut and it's about 3 or 4 layers of cardstock. I then ran a generous line of multi-medium matte along the bottom to glue some real sand that I had (I don't know why I had sand but I did so I used it...lol).<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiMVgjoOFoZV1PPlPjq78qu8Z0F1HTqOx94A-oJJvJ6C1utJ1dSoZXeTWawV5cy96l65oHHZ20qpd6mA5fV0EF2gdoafI7RL8Fmy3sX8Ij7ymjnfohhc5HI0_q5PmVRZtW3J_3J4Ee3dtYt/s1600/IMG_0708.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1196" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiMVgjoOFoZV1PPlPjq78qu8Z0F1HTqOx94A-oJJvJ6C1utJ1dSoZXeTWawV5cy96l65oHHZ20qpd6mA5fV0EF2gdoafI7RL8Fmy3sX8Ij7ymjnfohhc5HI0_q5PmVRZtW3J_3J4Ee3dtYt/s640/IMG_0708.JPG" width="478" /></a></div>
<br />
Working on the vellum I attached my elements in layers, checking frequently to make sure it would fit inside the frame. When I was happy I then place the frame on top of the vellum scene piece, trimming elements as needed to make them fit, and attached the cat to the back of the "tank". Then I glued it to my background paper and, in turn, attached that to the card front using more foam adhesive.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgx2l1hWkcscW9GTIY1gz3u_tvI7UzVbt2zz1MZ8ue3mkMFTc8tZc5GQgBjynHV7lUxQbEtvXEpOzvKskIJu6fnoF7ffPwmo29TRWhakZjl87shSPvH8CV8cxF6WzkaqMBvBxjLb6Sm9Xom/s1600/IMG_0709.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1201" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgx2l1hWkcscW9GTIY1gz3u_tvI7UzVbt2zz1MZ8ue3mkMFTc8tZc5GQgBjynHV7lUxQbEtvXEpOzvKskIJu6fnoF7ffPwmo29TRWhakZjl87shSPvH8CV8cxF6WzkaqMBvBxjLb6Sm9Xom/s640/IMG_0709.JPG" width="480" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
So, that's my latest card. Hope you like it and join in....there's still time to enter the weekly <a href="http://www.cardchallenges.com/search/label/sketchchallenge" target="_blank">MFT sketch challenge</a>.</div>

I haven't had a chance to post about any of the projects I've done except for Facebook and, more recently, I've ventured into using Instagram to share projects. Still haven't figured out all the ins and outs of Instagram. And WHY is May soooooo busy? I don't even know. There were a couple of projects I made that I can't post pictures of because I was in a hurry to send them off and forgot to take pictures....they were Mother's Day cards. I'm bummed because I was really happy with how they turned out and would have loved to have shared it within this crafty community.<br />
<br />
But......anyway, here are pics of the projects I am able to share with you in no particular chronological order....<br />
<br />
Here's a cute card I made using the Birdie Brown "Our Story" stamp set by MFT. Of course it was for a MFTWSC but can't remember which one. I was trying to use up some pattern paper from my stash. I feel like I just don't use them enough....actually I feel that way about most of my craft supplies. lol.<br />
<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I bought my first ever Altenew card kit and created this card using one of the stamps in the kit and beautiful pattern paper which also came in the kit. I really wanted it to look like super loose water coloring, which was quite challenging but I really like how this turned out.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Another card for a MFTWSC. I found the sketch to be challenging but finally came up with this card which has a little pocket in the front with a note card tucked in. I used an older MFT stamp set (have had it for years) and played around with creating a color blend transitioning from yellow to red to coordinate with the pattern paper. I really like the colors.</div>

<br />
The next card I made for my cousin who got married on April 1st. Her wedding colors were bright pink, cobalt blue and silver and those were the colors I used to make this card. I also used a stamp by Stamping Bella. The sentiment on the inside was one that I just wrote on the computer and printed out. My cousin loved the card and plans to keep it...which made me super happy. :)<br />

<br />
Originally I had wanted to water color the wedding card but found that it just wasn't going to work with the bold colors. I'll have to find another used for this colored image because I do like how it turned out.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhCXU0nDPwSx1zpQLF8PIBHkTtaTwGR8TIOru4ySmZ6g0V91-TD3qv2ZEMI6x-oR9-ClOJvaDbmzdmAPf-On8IU5snNC81c0Lrr9uu9uCvbCeKXb58QDTR-eLP0OGO-MkIwU0zb7DCrSwg8/s1600/20170321_210334.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="900" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhCXU0nDPwSx1zpQLF8PIBHkTtaTwGR8TIOru4ySmZ6g0V91-TD3qv2ZEMI6x-oR9-ClOJvaDbmzdmAPf-On8IU5snNC81c0Lrr9uu9uCvbCeKXb58QDTR-eLP0OGO-MkIwU0zb7DCrSwg8/s640/20170321_210334.jpg" width="360" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
Not everything I make is cards or paper crafts. I used my Brother ScanNCut to create this floating frame as a wedding gift for my cousin. I used the ScanNCut Canvas to design this split monogram (after watching some tutorials on it, of course) and then cut the design from vinyl. Because I don't work with vinyl very often it took me 4 tries to get it right...even though I watched tutorials on how to attach vinyl...smh. It's very important not to peel off the entire release paper....you gotta peel it back in stages for such a large project. It will save your sanity. lol<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
Here I went nuts coloring these adorable cats from the "Purrr-Fect Friends" stamp set by MFT. I just wanted to try different color combos. I still haven't used them on a card yet :( <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgQiEdpvU-LtKrCM3uwtN9weWlx46wKelOa6adNZRMkdRiAUS6PbExWfpH5It1S3Jlxcmy5sy6V77ai05NiSFIGcrISvnROiaUjo-PzLPnY9rYIkbTFxVAQMLYx3YrCFiBAPMHx7d65KBEQ/s1600/FB_IMG_1489598460170.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="538" data-original-width="552" height="388" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgQiEdpvU-LtKrCM3uwtN9weWlx46wKelOa6adNZRMkdRiAUS6PbExWfpH5It1S3Jlxcmy5sy6V77ai05NiSFIGcrISvnROiaUjo-PzLPnY9rYIkbTFxVAQMLYx3YrCFiBAPMHx7d65KBEQ/s400/FB_IMG_1489598460170.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
My current obsession is the BB "Mermazing" stamp set by MFT. The first mermaid I colored absolutely had to look like Ariel. It's a rule....I'm sure of it. I stamped out a bunch of the images from the set and tried to play around with color combinations. The hair is so much fun to color. My goal is to eventually create swatches with different color combos so I can easily remember which of my Spectrum Noir markers I need to create a certain look.<br />

<br />
Oh, and here's where I tried an ink smooshing technique but I was very intentional with where I smooshed the colors so it could like sort of an impression of a flower. I also wanted to add pencil lines to add definition to the "petals" but in the end chickened out. I didn't want to ruin it because my colored pencil skills are terrible. This ended up on a Mother's Day card which I mailed out before remembering to take a picture. >>>sigh<<< But my mom really liked the card.<br />

<br />
Here are my most recent creations for MFTWSC#323.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I made a card using the new Purr-fect Friends stamp set by MFT. One of my crafty goals this year is to use my pattern paper pads more. I always admire <a href="http://christygetscrafty.blogspot.com/" target="_blank">Christy's</a> use of pattern paper in her card series and she really inspired me to do the same. I used papers from a 6x6 pad by American Crafts. I'm sure you've all heard of the 30 Day Color Challenge hosted by Kathy over at <a href="http://www.thedailymarker.com/2017/02/12004/" target="_blank">The Daily Marker</a>? In addition to creating this card for the MFTWSC I also made the card to participate in that challenge. Anyway, that cat from the stamp set is so much fun to color and I'm really happy with how it turned out. Here it is:</div>

<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I'll post more pics of the different combinations I've come up with soon.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Initially, before I came up with the "Purr-fect Friend" card, I saw a dinosaur in the sketch, but sometimes I just don't know how to execute the ideas floating in my head so it ended up looking more like an alligator. I used no stamps at all but only MFT dies and some circle punches and an embossing folder. It's a strange card for me but I'm glad I gave it a try. LOL Here it is. What do you think? Can you see the alligator in the sketch? Once you see it....you can never un-see it. Muahahahahaha.... ;)</div>

<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Alrighty, that's all I have for now. Thanks so much for stopping by. Hope you all get a chance to participate in the 30 day color challenge; you don't have to devote a lot of time and you don't even have to finish....just start and color.</div>

<br />
I really love this week's <a href="http://www.cardchallenges.com/search/label/sketchchallenge" target="_blank">MFTWSC #321</a> and was super happy that there was time for me to make a card with this sketch. It did take me all day to make it because....color decisions. lol. Such a struggle for me but I'm super happy with how it turned out. It has the southwest feel that I was going for and that <a href="http://www.mftstamps.com/die-namics/die-namics-stepped-up-chevron" target="_blank">border die</a> adds the perfect finishing touch. Here's my card<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgbxBKCkg8X3uffxYiSyCkazYcn9a0eFOvAYEuZCd0WAwQkqYiCgMoqr8fc5atZZww90SyuDQBN0__e4xDiCzlsd4-UsW8iRTYzXHyTS-sa97KLlbBowHysuWnAjLtWNBo4_U82E0pDOAd9/s1600/16996245_10208795163058576_8972994515574209724_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgbxBKCkg8X3uffxYiSyCkazYcn9a0eFOvAYEuZCd0WAwQkqYiCgMoqr8fc5atZZww90SyuDQBN0__e4xDiCzlsd4-UsW8iRTYzXHyTS-sa97KLlbBowHysuWnAjLtWNBo4_U82E0pDOAd9/s1600/16996245_10208795163058576_8972994515574209724_n.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The stamp set I used is called "<a href="http://www.mftstamps.com/llama-love" target="_blank">Llama Love</a>" This card went through quite the evolution from my initial idea to the final product. I knew I wanted to use that sentiment and I needed this llama to be dramatic. At first I thought it would be enough to just frame it in a way that would draw your eye to the llama but it wasn't enough for me. At some point while I was coloring and cutting out the aloe-like plant, I started seeing other possibilities in the shape. I tried it out as a wig and knew that was the drama this llama needed. I made several different colored "wigs" and finally settled on this one. I also thought it would be a nice effect to have the circle appear to be almost like a hot desert sun and that plant shape lent itself perfectly to use as flickering flames. And, of course, everything's more dramatic with sparkle....so glitter added. lol. So, that's my card. Here are some close-ups.</div>

<br />
Today I thought I'd share the cards I made for Valentine's Day. I think they turned out super cute.<br />
I had recently purchased some Bristol smooth watercolor paper and wanted to try my hand at some faux-water coloring. I've owned a set of Martha Stewart markers for years and rarely use them. They're water based so I wanted to try to use them the way I've seen folks use those Zig waterbrush markers (which I don't have) on YouTube. I couldn't believe how well it worked. I would put down a bit of color in a small area on the image and then use a waterbrush to spread the color out. It worked like a charm and created a soft watercolor effect which I think worked well with the images on this card. Here they are:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjmnj1zy6RjaCmb_wqufGe1rj6AjVHMoF7pWPBA41qbqd8TvAUEKfkfFVEewE4cYpqQj5Eq8nn5B40B0XsX3tZsKyY87-Ki9nx1ZQF-5q2UbSRQOSVNzMgJi8nPfVV9nVCzWZZBs5KZsdEy/s1600/IMG_0210.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjmnj1zy6RjaCmb_wqufGe1rj6AjVHMoF7pWPBA41qbqd8TvAUEKfkfFVEewE4cYpqQj5Eq8nn5B40B0XsX3tZsKyY87-Ki9nx1ZQF-5q2UbSRQOSVNzMgJi8nPfVV9nVCzWZZBs5KZsdEy/s640/IMG_0210.JPG" width="478" /></a></div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhDSVWk23IuPdOnAMwkKKD6hGJySFFWkjprg6ITcXeWeeXBmbu7fU9-qNZBycdIi6WuYiF9MqUnYo079nMCQ5hrrFnQG3Vqzj8b5xxYd0elkPKXDowptBKIHdjhpoUQ2-012NsgzLuBGgc8/s1600/IMG_0207.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhDSVWk23IuPdOnAMwkKKD6hGJySFFWkjprg6ITcXeWeeXBmbu7fU9-qNZBycdIi6WuYiF9MqUnYo079nMCQ5hrrFnQG3Vqzj8b5xxYd0elkPKXDowptBKIHdjhpoUQ2-012NsgzLuBGgc8/s640/IMG_0207.JPG" width="478" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
For the cards I combined several stamp sets. For the first card, I used the <a href="https://www.simonsaysstamp.com/product/Mama-Elephant-Clear-Stamp-CHARMED-Set-MEPT136-MEPT136" target="_blank">"Charmed" stamp set by Mama Elephant.</a> The sentiment on the banner came from the <a href="https://www.simonsaysstamp.com/product/RESERVE-Mama-Elephant-Clear-Stamp-IN-MY-HEART-Set-ME1406-073-ME1406073S?currency=USD" target="_blank">"In My Heart" stamp set by Mama Elephant</a>. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
For the second card I stamped the larger birds and feathers using a stamp set from Lawn Fawn that is no longer available because it was a limited edition. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<img src="https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/564x/ac/64/f1/ac64f1cdf1e388fc7f520d3e4171c196.jpg" /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
But the smaller bird is from the <a href="https://www.simonsaysstamp.com/product/Lawn-Fawn-CHIT-CHAT-Clear-Stamps-LF669LF" target="_blank">Lawn Fawn "Chit Chat"</a> stamp set. The branch is from the "Charmed" stamp set by Mama Elephant and the heart frame is from a <a href="https://www.simonsaysstamp.com/product/S4-316-Spellbinders-HEART-CIRCLES-Dies-32728?currency=USD" target="_blank">Spellbinder set called "Heart Circle"</a>. It's not actually a frame so I used a SSS stitched circle die that fit and cut out the center and, voila, it's a cute frame. The sentiment is from an old Cloud9 Design stamp set that I don't even know the name of.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
For both cards, I used Tim Holtz distress inks to create a soft colored background. Then I used the SSS Stitched rectangle die to cut out the panels and adhered the images and elements to them. For the purple mat I used the stitched scalloped rectangle die from the MFT dienamics blueprints 27.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I kept the embellishments pretty simple with just a touch of sparkle on the hearts and a clear glaze pen for the beaks and tiny flowers on the wreath.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEieHNW_OuU9UA0SnHfIYTbWDkaJcYms2g-m_xezi4zIgZoFulEDrPpuecccEhqjji3mc2fchmN0BPK__YsLM6_avp4S_MzMLagv5zwV6FIC85LpOK9JIHRgejEjJWDb2j4NgSL5wDg6E-6s/s1600/20170214_092634.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEieHNW_OuU9UA0SnHfIYTbWDkaJcYms2g-m_xezi4zIgZoFulEDrPpuecccEhqjji3mc2fchmN0BPK__YsLM6_avp4S_MzMLagv5zwV6FIC85LpOK9JIHRgejEjJWDb2j4NgSL5wDg6E-6s/s640/20170214_092634.jpg" width="360" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
By the way, the limited edition Lawn Fawn set didn't have dies, but I got a Brother Scan N Cut for Christmas and it cut the images for me beautifully. I love the Scan N Cut!!!! I'm not great at fussy cutting and usually my hands start to hurt especially when I'm making a large number of the same cards so this machine has been a HUGE help!!! Also, now I no longer have to buy matching dies for stamp sets which frees up my very limited budget to purchase more stamps and stand-alone dies and such.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
So, those are my Valentine's cards. Hope you enjoyed.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Thanks for stopping by. Have a blessed & crafty day.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>

Hugs,</div>

<br />
I'm back with a quick card share. Here's my entry for <a href="http://www.cardchallenges.com/search/label/sketchchallenge" target="_blank">MFTWSC320</a>. Even though it took me most of the day to make it (had the hardest time making color decisions) I had soooo much fun making it and got to play with some stamp sets that I've had a while but hadn't yet used and some new stamp sets I got for Christmas. Here's the card:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The stamp sets I used are<a href="http://www.mftstamps.com/catalogsearch/result/?q=Our+story" target="_blank"> BB Our Story</a>, <a href="http://www.mftstamps.com/catalogsearch/result/?q=I+Knead+You" target="_blank">BB I Knead You</a>, and MFT <a href="http://www.mftstamps.com/label-maker-sentiments" target="_blank">Label Maker Sentiments</a>. I also inked the sentiments with my new MFT ink mini in a color called <a href="http://www.mftstamps.com/premium-dye-ink-cubes-set-10" target="_blank">'Poppy</a>'. Such a pretty color. I cut the pattern paper using the scalloped edge stitched rectangle from the <a href="http://www.mftstamps.com/catalogsearch/result/?q=blueprints+27" target="_blank">MFT Dienamics Blueprint 27</a>. I absolutely love that die.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
All images were colored with Spectrum Noir markers. The kitty was colored to resemble our tortois shell kitty, however, I wasn't brave enough to color the pup black & white to look like ours so I colored him in golden brown tones instead.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
So that's my super quick card share. If you have any questions about what supplies I used, please feel free to leave them in the comments below. Thanks for stopping by. Hope you get a chance to have some crafty fun.</div>

<br />
Happy Valentine's Day! January was a bust for me. I think I made two things. I think I was recovering from Christmas card overload. LOL. Anyone else have this problem?<br />
<br />
Anyway, I finally was able to motivate myself and make time to join this week's MFT challenge so here's what I came up with for <a href="http://www.cardchallenges.com/search/label/sketchchallenge" target="_blank">MFTWSC319</a>.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjHlr9YXWG8InsmxeIiLEiBJ6iB99L33DKoeBGajVsyE7sl8npvJUUoU0ALURMmRIHVyF5M20ymKV961eHkwPAEJSwSg7vl7sd8cfos1uAWXV2dwim6O3-k9S7IQSzbh8xCnUhDKPQrmusU/s1600/IMG_0200.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjHlr9YXWG8InsmxeIiLEiBJ6iB99L33DKoeBGajVsyE7sl8npvJUUoU0ALURMmRIHVyF5M20ymKV961eHkwPAEJSwSg7vl7sd8cfos1uAWXV2dwim6O3-k9S7IQSzbh8xCnUhDKPQrmusU/s320/IMG_0200.JPG" width="239" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I used the <a href="http://www.mftstamps.com/bb-our-story" target="_blank">BB Our Story</a> stamp set I got for Christmas. It's so cute; I can't wait to play with it some more. Using the stack of books I stamped a background trying to stagger the image for each column to make it look more random. I used the MISTI and it helped a lot. It definitely wasn't a quick background, so just be warned if you want to try it-LOL. Next, I stamped out the book stack on another piece of cardstock, colored it and cut it out (using my Brother Scan N Cut that I also got for Christmas--I LOVE it!!!). When I placed the colored book stack over the matching stack on the background, I realized that it barely stood out because I had used black ink to stamp the background. I should have used a light grey maybe but I didn't want to start over. So, in order to diffuse the background a bit, I layered a piece of vellum over it and that helped a lot.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Then I just layered everything on some gingham patterned paper from my stash. I stamped and heat embossed the sentiment with some white embossing powder on some dark grey cardstock and used the fishtail banner die from the <a href="http://www.mftstamps.com/catalogsearch/result/?q=blueprints+27" target="_blank">MFT die-namics Blueprints #27</a> to cut it out. Also used some SSS Stitched circle dies to cut out the circle frame from some pretty light blue cardstock. And just because it looked a little too plain, I added a few sequins from my stash. Overall it's a very clean and simple card that would be great for many occasions.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The cards I've seen using this week's MFT sketch are so amazing. Did you guys see this <a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjyaKouoqtmGlwqk7dWTyql82SQ4Ka4ld5MEWWI5nm4qbabw6ZG-ZK61-bO175FoupZZqzQFn4yvqg3v3vmQQn1OfXKEQC5wVK2sT7poyUxmlU5H-EFfOOtTD3NCIoMzs__4wOLv_UsqHWk/s1600/MFT_Guest_KarenBaker_Feb8_1.jpg" target="_blank">astronaut card by Karen Baker</a>? It's actually a slider card!!! It just WOWs. I can't love it enough!!!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Later this week I will share pics of some Valentine's Day cards I made. Thanks for hanging out with me today. </div>

<br />
The holiday season has kept me super busy as I'm sure you all can relate to. I haven't had much time to craft let alone post pics here but did manage make some super quick Christmas cards to be able to send to family and friends but I didn't take any pictures of those. I made one more card using one of my favorite MFT sketches for my DD because I accidentally sent hers in the mail. lol<br />

<br />
Is everyone getting into the Christmas spirit? We're slowly getting ready taking our time decorating and whatnot over the course of advent. Of course, I have to make a few Christmas cards, too, to send out to family and a few close friends. I dreamed up this card I'm sharing today over the course of a week or so. I've had this super cute BB You Have My Heart stamp set for a while but strangely enough haven't used it very often. Every time I look at the stamp of the little girl with her pup looking at each other I feel like they're sharing some secret or witnessing something beautiful together (like a cozy fire, a beautiful sunrise/sunset, fireworks (I actually made a card with that)......or Santa trying to scramble up the chimney.<br />
<br />
I couldn't even begin to share what all went into making this card but the main products were the <a href="http://www.mftstamps.com/catalogsearch/result/?q=You+have+my+heart" target="_blank">BB You Have My Heart stampset & dies</a> by MFT for the main image, the <a href="http://www.mftstamps.com/catalogsearch/result/?q=Santa%27s+elves" target="_blank">BB Santa's Elves</a> for the elf, the tree & some of the presents and baubles, the <a href="http://www.mftstamps.com/catalogsearch/result/?q=beary+special+birthday" target="_blank">BB Beary Special Birthday stamp set & dies</a> for presents, the <a href="https://www.simonsaysstamp.com/product/Mama-Elephant-MEPT134-Clear-Stamp-and-Die-Charmed-SET--MEPT134?currency=USD" target="_blank">ME Charmed stamps & die set</a> for the wreath, and finally the <a href="https://www.amazon.com/Cricut-A-Quilted-Christmas-Cartridge/dp/B008DWYYDG" target="_blank">Cricut Quilted Christmas cartridge</a> for the Santa in the fireplace image and the <a href="https://www.amazon.com/Cricut-Project-Creative-Cards-Cartridge/dp/B00B9TWNUG" target="_blank">Cricut Creative Cards cartridge</a> for the window & curtains.. Before your eyes glaze over, lol, here's the card:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-OhTnaxBsSRo/WEmE2l2DyxI/AAAAAAAAChM/HelTZUegG0ABTECNcnduYzHh287mNnerQCPcB/s1600/IMG_0119.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-OhTnaxBsSRo/WEmE2l2DyxI/AAAAAAAAChM/HelTZUegG0ABTECNcnduYzHh287mNnerQCPcB/s640/IMG_0119.JPG" width="478" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-5ZvUFPe2I4k/WEmE2npAtLI/AAAAAAAAChM/oQYuLhwZwFYKDytzjUl64Opi1woBLwecgCPcB/s1600/IMG_0142.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-5ZvUFPe2I4k/WEmE2npAtLI/AAAAAAAAChM/oQYuLhwZwFYKDytzjUl64Opi1woBLwecgCPcB/s640/IMG_0142.JPG" width="478" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-5Ie69z-DT0c/WEmE2kW0HVI/AAAAAAAAChM/9qyF4CJVOaAD8DiYOEs5DFw90TVQLGCFQCPcB/s1600/IMG_0147.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="438" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-5Ie69z-DT0c/WEmE2kW0HVI/AAAAAAAAChM/9qyF4CJVOaAD8DiYOEs5DFw90TVQLGCFQCPcB/s640/IMG_0147.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
I cut the firplace with Santa image using my old Cricut Expression 2 from all white cardstock because I didn't want to have to figure out the colored cardstock and also because either way I would add details because otherwise it looks a bit flat to me. So, all the colors and details were colored in using my Spectrum Noir markers.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-qgz7gv_7xK8/WEmE2mEG33I/AAAAAAAAChM/XuIW0XfUXhgrrFJL8BbkYlepbeNLwwSIQCPcB/s1600/IMG_0125.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-qgz7gv_7xK8/WEmE2mEG33I/AAAAAAAAChM/XuIW0XfUXhgrrFJL8BbkYlepbeNLwwSIQCPcB/s640/IMG_0125.JPG" width="478" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-A2EbITeQmaU/WEmE2nxPfVI/AAAAAAAAChM/7F2fLVRN5Zo6JR789lxwyF8x2yigkdQigCPcB/s1600/IMG_0148.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-A2EbITeQmaU/WEmE2nxPfVI/AAAAAAAAChM/7F2fLVRN5Zo6JR789lxwyF8x2yigkdQigCPcB/s640/IMG_0148.JPG" width="478" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><span style="background-color: white; color: #1d2129; font-size: 14px;">I imagined a story where Santa and his helper were busy delivering presents and decorating when they heard footsteps. 'Course they had to try to leave in a hurry and the little elf didn't get a chance to clean up after himself and left tree baubles all over the place. He's still waiting for the right time to make his escape. I'm sure Santa won't leave without him. Lol. That little girl and her pup are just amazed at watching Santa scramble up the chimney. He's taking a while cause his jelly-belly isn't making it easy. lol. </span>That's my story, and I'm stickin' to it. hahahah...</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
The card still needs a sentiment and a recipient but it's otherwise finished. Hope you enjoyed this share.<br />
<br />
The sentiment will read "Enjoy the magic of Christmas" and that's what I wish for all of you.<br />
<br />
Thanks for stopping by. May you have a blessed, crafty, & magical day.<br />

Hugs,<br />

<br />
Huge card share for you. Once again, I'm late. I share a computer and it's just hard for me to get on here lately to post but I finally have a chance to jump on here and share.<br />
<br />
The cards that I made were for the <a href="http://www.cardchallenges.com/search/label/sketchchallenge?updated-max=2016-11-30T08:00:00-05:00&max-results=20&start=1&by-date=false" target="_blank">MFTWSC#308</a>...last week's. A really great sketch; super versatile. I made quite a few cards with this sketch simply because once I got the idea in my head that the circular shape in the background was like a Christmas ornament I decided to make a bunch of Christmas cards with this sketch. And I was just on the roll. lol<br />
<br />
For the first cards I used the MFT BB Santa's Elves stamp set. I used a Tim Holtz stencil (Holiday Knits) throughout and some distress inks to create the background circle. Then I colored in the elf and fussy-cut him out. I did some heat embossing for the sentiment (I love heat embossing, by the way...I don't think I know how to make a card without using this technique. lol) and then just put the elements together using foam tape for some added dimension. That's pretty much how I did all the cards. I just varied the images and stamp sets and the matting papers. Oh, and one of them is a shaker card. Here they are:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhIWDXLzVTaoq2wjQ66fARMF24f41IG1iLty3C4oMwRqg2ef1VTTFufOPS78ld__klxrF1fRntQ5sP8-6no9z4Bjx4o0mS_cW-XEiaxcWetLY4eN80vi-PpTuT39xOQTeWqFFybJQDqcVsQ/s1600/20161129_114746.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhIWDXLzVTaoq2wjQ66fARMF24f41IG1iLty3C4oMwRqg2ef1VTTFufOPS78ld__klxrF1fRntQ5sP8-6no9z4Bjx4o0mS_cW-XEiaxcWetLY4eN80vi-PpTuT39xOQTeWqFFybJQDqcVsQ/s640/20161129_114746.jpg" width="360" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I think this next one might be my favorite of the 3. I cut around the sentiment because it helped to make the elf look like he's peeking over while holding onto an ornament. I fussy-cut him; in the original image he's peeking into a stocking. Adorbz!!!</div>

For the next set of cards I used Mama Elephant's 'Reindeer Games' stamp set and colored up a bunch of those cuties. Thankfully I have the coordinating dies for these. I think of these 3 maybe the pink one is my favorite but they're all really cute aren't they?</div>

<br />
Just quickly wanted to jump on here to share a card I created for an MFT Color challenge. I've never done a color challenge before and had been wanting to so when I checked it out and saw the color palette I couldn't let it pass me by.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://www.cardchallenges.com/search/label/colorchallenge" target="_blank"><img border="0" height="66" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgZZlPjA32h66hNhIYThyphenhyphenES7PL2nVakmt__a6LXg3EecUyWbQZpg5jsAZV8TMVrUDUJdFbO6iit20LRgSwt0dOpVBsNI8l8whCTmHhXIlVFM0-7CJkEsJGYMSGwHS2n66heZjNQNnVnENPK/s320/MFT_ColorChallenge_PaintBook_57.png" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The colors are classic and timeless. So here's my entry for<a href="http://www.cardchallenges.com/search/label/colorchallenge" target="_blank"> MFT Color Challenge #57</a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg1TeESszx4d-ENPWRujaV6L-Z7JRHWpGibGiaBxPQdeA25Nc4JH4zLGHq84xRwpHwOksC1DedxVIfUFWiS3COuvC1X1sBbigSZ3aYjJ9pOVXdxRcSzxKxcPySa44T_rtgWZ4Ei5JmRu1Yf/s1600/IMG_0083.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="594" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg1TeESszx4d-ENPWRujaV6L-Z7JRHWpGibGiaBxPQdeA25Nc4JH4zLGHq84xRwpHwOksC1DedxVIfUFWiS3COuvC1X1sBbigSZ3aYjJ9pOVXdxRcSzxKxcPySa44T_rtgWZ4Ei5JmRu1Yf/s640/IMG_0083.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
It's a shaker card using MFT ever so cute <a href="http://www.mftstamps.com/bb-beary-special-birthday" target="_blank">BB Beary Special Birthday</a> stamp set. For this stamp set I also have the matching dies which makes me very happy because I'm not great at fussy cutting and sometimes my hands hurt. To frame the shaker bits, which are a combination of red, silver, and clear sequins from my stash (probably Darice brand from Michael's) I used the MFT <a href="http://www.mftstamps.com/catalogsearch/result/?q=stitched+rectangle+scallop+frames" target="_blank">Stitched Rectangle Scallop Frames</a> die and colored it with some dark red Spectrum Noir markers to match the balloon and bow. I stamped the sentiment directly onto the acetate with black StazOn ink. That took a couple of tries because I always seem to make a mess and smudge things. But nothing an alcohol wipe can't fix.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The bear I colored with cool greys. Everything got sparkled up with my Spectrum Noir glitter brush marker and a touch of glossy accents adds shine and extra cuteness to the bear's nose.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjZTFl7txdH8fU5uj-879YyEnCAruCu-c0tVpZoZXH_IvLSK0SBDURCOOy0bWGcpOalDppuwXzqM1-CksEnClN2PpQBwJ7S89qhhH47vjKv2oBD6EceiDG6mvfqvCezDZQeowx6qwGkTF4N/s1600/20161116_151533.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjZTFl7txdH8fU5uj-879YyEnCAruCu-c0tVpZoZXH_IvLSK0SBDURCOOy0bWGcpOalDppuwXzqM1-CksEnClN2PpQBwJ7S89qhhH47vjKv2oBD6EceiDG6mvfqvCezDZQeowx6qwGkTF4N/s640/20161116_151533.jpg" width="358" /></a></div>
<br />
I thought the inside of the shaker looked a bit bare (lol---just realized that could sound a bit like a pun) so I stamped the stack of presents in Memento flannel grey ink and colored it with light shades of cool grey. And I thought that was just enough of something in the background.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh_77l7iwWqDfc0HjiE_ZAVM8Jmm_jZOuKo0DUTmxcfpmVjhekNps7S1Wi7FpKehfcrFcGvllD32GiHfiONw2GC1qRxpB07bCPHxFW5ybWqbGcGK1TDW9lJ8tF9APFnznCu6WHMh8v-wbPU/s1600/20161116_151526.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh_77l7iwWqDfc0HjiE_ZAVM8Jmm_jZOuKo0DUTmxcfpmVjhekNps7S1Wi7FpKehfcrFcGvllD32GiHfiONw2GC1qRxpB07bCPHxFW5ybWqbGcGK1TDW9lJ8tF9APFnznCu6WHMh8v-wbPU/s640/20161116_151526.jpg" width="358" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
That's my card share. Hope you enjoyed.<br />
<br />
Have a safe & blessed Thanksgiving and I hope you get to spend it in the company of family & friends with much love & laughter.<br />
<br />
Hugs,<br />
Bettina :)<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Wanted to share some more card projects that I created last week. The first one is a variation on a card from a previous post using the tree image from the MFT stamp set <a href="http://www.mftstamps.com/bb-santa-s-elves" target="_blank">Santa's Elves</a>. But this time I used Tim Holtz distress inks like watercolors and applied the color with a paint brush and layered the colors, drying each layer in between. I entered this one in a monthly challenge for a FB Group called <a href="https://www.facebook.com/groups/103832353026882/" target="_blank">Scrappin' Stampers</a>. It's the FB page of Jamie from <a href="http://www.not2shabbyshop.com/" target="_blank">Not2Shabby shop</a>. She always has a fun new challenge every month for a chance to win a $10 gift card to use in her store. And she also always offers discounts when you shop with her. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
So, here's the card I created for her challenge:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-KSI6QrqaJ08/WCuNK3LA0uI/AAAAAAAAB0c/0vjtvXss3R85KDicUD9kUWpXCnEhrNFngCPcB/s1600/20161115_103232.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-KSI6QrqaJ08/WCuNK3LA0uI/AAAAAAAAB0c/0vjtvXss3R85KDicUD9kUWpXCnEhrNFngCPcB/s640/20161115_103232.jpg" width="356" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I have a snowflake embossing folder that I finally had a chance to use and it just adds just the right detail to the background so it's not too plain but still kind of clean and simple. For some sparkle I used a Spectrum Noir clear glitter brush pen...I'm not sure if it's legal to create a holiday card without sparkle and shine and I just couldn't take the chance. lol ;)</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-XUmNdgzDNxE/WCuNKz7UD8I/AAAAAAAAB0c/P7srua8wUHQXWdxlw16QwHUyL_w1KkgSwCPcB/s1600/20161115_102532.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-XUmNdgzDNxE/WCuNKz7UD8I/AAAAAAAAB0c/P7srua8wUHQXWdxlw16QwHUyL_w1KkgSwCPcB/s640/20161115_102532.jpg" width="356" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I used Tim Holtz Platinum Gold embossing powder around the edges of the center image as well as to stamp the image and the sentiment. I used a die from the <a href="http://www.mftstamps.com/die-namics-blueprints-5" target="_blank">MFT Blueprints Dienamics 5 </a>set to add the notecard detail to the top of the front panel piece. And for some extra shine I added some gold splatter using some gold spray.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Qypo-a4gl3Q/WCuNKzWpvLI/AAAAAAAAB0c/MJys_k9h_08eNjPIEWlC2MUoQ_J658arwCPcB/s1600/20161115_102235.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Qypo-a4gl3Q/WCuNKzWpvLI/AAAAAAAAB0c/MJys_k9h_08eNjPIEWlC2MUoQ_J658arwCPcB/s640/20161115_102235.jpg" width="356" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The next card was for an <a href="http://www.cardchallenges.com/search/label/sketchchallenge?updated-max=2016-11-09T08:00:00-05:00&max-results=20&start=1&by-date=false" target="_blank">MFTWSC305</a> from a couple of weeks ago. I didn't get it done in time but still wanted to make a card because I had this idea right away when I saw the sketch. I didn't use an MFT stamp for this. The stamp is from Art Impressions called <a href="https://www.artimpressions.com/shop/mini-raccoon-spinner-set-4733/" target="_blank">Mini Raccoon Spinner</a>. It's also my first spinner card. I used similar colors and the style of coloring as I saw on the packaging of the stampset. I used warm greys of Spectrum Noir alcohol markers to color him in. This card was super fun to make and came together pretty quickly. I had a little bit of a problem getting the front and back to match up (the stamp set does come with a die) and I think you have to stamp the back image onto the back of the die cut, if that makes sense. I will have to try it that way next time to see if it works out better that way. Instead of a pic I thought I'd post a short clip of the card in action:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Soooo....that's my card share for now.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Thanks for stopping by.</div>

<br />
I managed to make a few cards over the weekend and I'm excited to share them with you.<br />
<br />
First I have a cute birthday card using this adorable piggy from the MFT <a href="http://www.mftstamps.com/bb-hog-heaven" target="_blank">BB Hog Heaven</a> stamp set. I was using the <a href="http://www.cardchallenges.com/search/label/sketchchallenge" target="_blank">MFTWSC306</a> for the layout but changed it up ever so slightly because I really didn't want to cover up the piggy. So this is what I came up with.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-7pa3RjscNyQ/WCuNK2tdhxI/AAAAAAAAB0c/7sEPBGDHgaA75MvBl0XQ9FkwBmHgnutXQCPcB/s1600/20161115_101910.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-7pa3RjscNyQ/WCuNK2tdhxI/AAAAAAAAB0c/7sEPBGDHgaA75MvBl0XQ9FkwBmHgnutXQCPcB/s640/20161115_101910.jpg" width="359" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Bon-f2NkhfY/WCuNKzzIaQI/AAAAAAAAB0c/9w0zhIpE7vQ20J4RnrpDkIkZsEwd0cPKQCPcB/s1600/20161115_101859.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Bon-f2NkhfY/WCuNKzzIaQI/AAAAAAAAB0c/9w0zhIpE7vQ20J4RnrpDkIkZsEwd0cPKQCPcB/s640/20161115_101859.jpg" width="360" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-GWseYa5adE0/WCuNK_KO0xI/AAAAAAAAB0c/mp_ywN-1jYgmX8u6hdV1_PZbDLbWA4o7QCPcB/s1600/20161115_102154.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-GWseYa5adE0/WCuNK_KO0xI/AAAAAAAAB0c/mp_ywN-1jYgmX8u6hdV1_PZbDLbWA4o7QCPcB/s640/20161115_102154.jpg" width="360" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
The next card is also for the MFTWSC306 but it's a Christmas card. Here I used the tree image from MFT's <a href="http://www.mftstamps.com/bb-santa-s-elves" target="_blank">BB Santa's Elves</a> stamp set. The colors didn't translate well in the picture, but I tried to create a soft pink background using Tim Holtz's Spun Sugar distress ink and then contrasted that with a brightly colored tree in Twisted Citron. I added lots of sparkle with a Spectrum Noir clear glitter pen.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">

<br />
Kind of have something cool to share....one of my favorite stamp companies, MFT Stamps, was having a "Thankful for You" event last week in which they featured some of their customers' and designers' creations using their products. Well, one of my recent card creations made it on their blog. It's pretty neat-O. Here's the link <a href="http://www.mftstamps.com/blog/thankfulforyou_4/">http://www.mftstamps.com/blog/thankfulforyou_4/</a><br />
<br />
Here's the card they used.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-x3Dgm-q6uJw/WCSwQJ_9kqI/AAAAAAAABXk/wapfflAkxc0Re51zkTDnXZr81n-XOpqgwCPcB/s1600/20161030_205013-1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-x3Dgm-q6uJw/WCSwQJ_9kqI/AAAAAAAABXk/wapfflAkxc0Re51zkTDnXZr81n-XOpqgwCPcB/s640/20161030_205013-1.jpg" width="478" /></a></div>
<br />
And there were many other beautiful card creations to inspire you. Hope you get a chance to check it out.<br />
<br />
Thanks for stopping by.<br />

Have a blessed and crafty day.<br />

<br />
Thought I'd pop on here real quick to share a couple of card creations. They're for the <a href="http://www.cardchallenges.com/search/label/sketchchallenge?updated-max=2016-11-09T08:00:00-05:00&max-results=20&start=1&by-date=false" target="_blank">MFTWSC #305</a>. I did post it on time at the <a href="https://www.facebook.com/groups/711641975618514/" target="_blank">MFT FB page</a> but just hadn't gotten around to posting about it on my blog. Sorry about that. My week was crazy busy and I didn't get a chance to join last week's challenge at all (super bummed). But anyway, here are the cards I made using MFTs Pure Innocence "Bear Hugs" stamp set, which is no longer available. I do apologize. I did not realize that the stamp was discontinued because I feel like I haven't had it that long.<br />
<br />
I did NOT realize, when I started out coloring the image, that it would be a Halloween card. Sometimes it's easier for me to pick out papers or a color palette first before coloring any images, but I decided to color the image first and then had a hard time figuring out what papers to use. Then I found the Halloween paper pad by My Mind's Eye and decided that worked well.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
And, although I was happy with the Halloween card it bothered me that the card didn't come out the way I envisioned it. I wanted flowers on it. So, I stamped her one more time and colored her differently and found some pretty papers and this time I was really happy with how my second card turned out. </div>

<br />
I almost nearly forgot to share this little cutie project. This is for yet another MFT card challenge, <a href="http://www.cardchallenges.com/search/label/sketchchallenge?updated-max=2016-10-26T08:00:00-04:00&max-results=20&start=1&by-date=false" target="_blank">MFTWSC303</a>. I barely finished it on Wednesday after their next sketch had already gone up.....in other words....I was late. lol.<br />
<br />
The reason I've been joining these challenges is two-fold. First, I seem to have a lot of MFT stamps & dies and Two: this gets me started in cardmaking and I finally use the stamps and dies that I have.<br />
<br />
Anyway, so this card came about after some brainstorming with my daughter. I showed her the sketch and asked her what she envisioned. So we went from fish and bubbles to fish tank (I told her I have no fish stamps) to halloween & x-rays....and ended up with this. lol.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiZa0LoXWWRVZxdxwWFdJZ4cs6dnMMYdlK_A93lTzA7MTTeAK_9TqBfmBklO_B3XFVp0HWNCgLBPrD0qGCqpBrZzV-UH42vHb4PnOEyMUhnFmRqlBq5pW3IV-l8-inw5kPdseK4gCDaQ6U5/s1600/pawprint1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiZa0LoXWWRVZxdxwWFdJZ4cs6dnMMYdlK_A93lTzA7MTTeAK_9TqBfmBklO_B3XFVp0HWNCgLBPrD0qGCqpBrZzV-UH42vHb4PnOEyMUhnFmRqlBq5pW3IV-l8-inw5kPdseK4gCDaQ6U5/s640/pawprint1.jpg" width="576" /></a></div>
<br />
I know...it was a logical progression ;)<br />
<br />
My favorite part is actually the blended background. I used Tim Holtz distress inks in pinks and reds. The stamp set is the same one I used in the "I Love Mew" card that I posted <a href="http://createfromtheheart.blogspot.com/2016/10/i-love-mew.html" target="_blank">here</a>.<br />
<br />
A lot of heat embossing went into this card. The pawprints on the background, the kitty's outline on the x-ray and the sentiment were all heat embossed. The enamel dots are actually Nuvo Crystal drops that I created separately on my craft mat and then placed on the card once they were set. I originally placed the Nuvo drops directly on the card but didn't like the rough edges once they dried. So I carefully pried them off and used the pre-made ones. Here are some close-ups.<br />

So that's this week's project. I've already started work on the new <a href="http://www.cardchallenges.com/search/label/sketchchallenge?max-results=20" target="_blank">MFT card sketch challenge</a> and I will hopefully finish that one on time. I have a million ideas for this latest sketch but I think I finally settled one. If I have time, I might create the other ideas I have.</div>

<br />
Just a quick share of my latest crafty project. I made a few tags for Jamie's <a href="https://www.facebook.com/groups/103832353026882/" target="_blank">Scrappin Stampers FB</a> group October challenge using the <a href="http://www.mftstamps.com/bb-santa-s-elves" target="_blank">BB Santa's Elves</a> stamp set by MFT. These playful elves are too cute and were the perfect size for these little tags.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjwzl7wFYizZ0bTlevQIA7dMxDhcJ81PsPyPOgXp6PEh36S-JXYDgSd8HyceNdnU-xy49DtGAKkrpPh2NISc2IaYZPfNJzPeKGPxE4OsuGHzFtqkEj3zhIV90et2cDMRLqee4Qe2Zm4T_gu/s1600/elftag1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="475" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjwzl7wFYizZ0bTlevQIA7dMxDhcJ81PsPyPOgXp6PEh36S-JXYDgSd8HyceNdnU-xy49DtGAKkrpPh2NISc2IaYZPfNJzPeKGPxE4OsuGHzFtqkEj3zhIV90et2cDMRLqee4Qe2Zm4T_gu/s640/elftag1.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
As small and as simple as they may look, they were truly a challenge for me to make. I don't know what my issue was but it took me days to finish these. I used an older Christmas themed 6x6 paper pad I had in my stash and cut the shapes with a Spellbinders die. When it was time to add the ribbon for hanging I tore the paper a bit (the hole was too small for the ribbon I was trying to use) hence the use of a snowflake eyelet on one of the tags. I also switched to some gold thread and baker's twine instead of ribbon. Because the images took up quite a bit of space I couldn't fit the "to" and "from" on the front of all of them so I stamped it on the back.<br />

<br />
Coming up with colors and color combos is always hard for me as well. I really like the idea of bright colors and green hats vs red so all of the elves are wearing the same colored hat and shoes. I did want them all to be a little bit different so they all wear different colored shirts and leggings. For the white on their hat and the stocking I added lots of shimmer with the Spectrum Noir glitter brush pen.<br />

<br />
So, I decided to leave the card alone and not add any more to it. Less is more, right? I'm super happy with how the card turned out and I definitely also learned a few things along the way--mainly what NOT to do when creating a shaker card with micro beads. lol. Anyway, here's the card and my take on the <a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhUT5NqdqRSEj_9OaxcXeEz2fZv9Au8kwfI21X0J-SBKJQciD-Si7gM_YAoHOAUkuSbC59hcD5aidEhlIAS54gdVhbhELIjHSOfIx42_WJ_c_sHKaI8FtTB1i1rQrGnnuBtzq79JkzUx8c/s640/302.png" target="_blank">MFTWSC302 </a><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg-wkegHnEnvGMSdDTyjmeZba1M0uWgWuyXiUxkUoM7UfKfFgTBvio16ysZLw7mPdKoPHRfkaGKCb_MQ0G1KGKE6FcoRh7pXCx_astpLtciaC0QgkS1__OG5PIJJQsCf1w9vfSDGFATrlTl/s1600/kneadyou1+%2528494x403%2529+%25282%2529.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="521" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg-wkegHnEnvGMSdDTyjmeZba1M0uWgWuyXiUxkUoM7UfKfFgTBvio16ysZLw7mPdKoPHRfkaGKCb_MQ0G1KGKE6FcoRh7pXCx_astpLtciaC0QgkS1__OG5PIJJQsCf1w9vfSDGFATrlTl/s640/kneadyou1+%2528494x403%2529+%25282%2529.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I used the MFT <a href="http://www.mftstamps.com/bb-i-knead-you" target="_blank">BB Knead You</a> stamp set...soooo cute. I tried to color the kitty to look like ours; she's a tortoise shell and she's grey and white with tan patches all over. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgwqc5vLBEs5jMuF2dZgdyd5OESRnTxzt62eRmpxxnmGZiWS2CyG59mzOEBOqLQlVTM7sxwegSno5FUGkpVP0DWbg7fnLMiwhvv_qqDE7xDpEUzaNc25PeXu06MQfRfJDrUZyg_FbBVV5qQ/s1600/kneadyou2+%2528540x960%2529.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgwqc5vLBEs5jMuF2dZgdyd5OESRnTxzt62eRmpxxnmGZiWS2CyG59mzOEBOqLQlVTM7sxwegSno5FUGkpVP0DWbg7fnLMiwhvv_qqDE7xDpEUzaNc25PeXu06MQfRfJDrUZyg_FbBVV5qQ/s640/kneadyou2+%2528540x960%2529.jpg" width="360" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I hand doodled the string coming from the ball of yarn and squiggled it a bit to give the string some "yarny" texture. I used the largest of the <a href="http://www.mftstamps.com/die-namics-stitched-rectangle-scallop-frames" target="_blank">MFT Stitched Rectangle Scallop Frames</a> and also decided to use the <a href="http://www.mftstamps.com/catalogsearch/result/?q=stitched+interactive+window+trio" target="_blank">MFT Stitched Interactive Window Trio</a> die for the first time EVER. Once I had the windows cut out and stamped the images that would be under each window flap I decided to make it a shaker card.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I first layed the front panel with the windows onto the card front and traced the squares so I could see where I wanted to stamp the images and sentiments that would go inside the shaker and be concealed by the flaps. I stamped one of the yarn ball images in the first window, one of the mice in the middle, and the I Love Mew sentiment in the last window underneath the kitty. Then I masked off the area around the window and added some Tim Holtz distress inks; Spun Sugar along the bottom portion of each window and Tea Dye across the top.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Next I added some acetate on the back of the front panel to create the windows and then added foam tape and micro beads. I kind of did things backwards and had trouble centering the card panel with the front panel but in the end it all worked out. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjjN6CmOfqrV3V3VzqE3et6Q-iRhNq8lzPZJkRO454LWic4ZG-SrdsGoGL-YXdSBcVPTT9zaGTjENTCslKRlNpNGFcNzQFztSGIt-dDauWesylKPNFXZ66BweEKfDdADyTmpQh-qiiEBSFR/s1600/kneadyou3+%2528960x812%2529.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="539" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjjN6CmOfqrV3V3VzqE3et6Q-iRhNq8lzPZJkRO454LWic4ZG-SrdsGoGL-YXdSBcVPTT9zaGTjENTCslKRlNpNGFcNzQFztSGIt-dDauWesylKPNFXZ66BweEKfDdADyTmpQh-qiiEBSFR/s640/kneadyou3+%2528960x812%2529.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I think this would make a cute Valentines or anniversary card...or a Just Because card.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
So, that's my card for today. I really enjoyed creating this card. Hope you like it, too.</div>

<br />
I'm working on the next card sketch challenge by MFT and I'm nearly finished. Here's a sneak peek<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj2JEoLSN8uAU-bInJvxGoSAuGFCzjFQZHj8wJ7YjU3ZTFQP-MPw9bMyfZ4xnjGPnIXMLJM1srdVpU1RWj4Xik9gR5Ue0eHV7P2h3t1OWCRXS8pzMw1Wb5IgUDWjvCU9m5k7SShkc73zSyJ/s1600/kneadyoucard.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj2JEoLSN8uAU-bInJvxGoSAuGFCzjFQZHj8wJ7YjU3ZTFQP-MPw9bMyfZ4xnjGPnIXMLJM1srdVpU1RWj4Xik9gR5Ue0eHV7P2h3t1OWCRXS8pzMw1Wb5IgUDWjvCU9m5k7SShkc73zSyJ/s320/kneadyoucard.jpg" width="180" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Just trying to figure out if it needs anything else before I post final pics.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

<br />
I decided to join in on the MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge. As I'm posting they've already moved on to the next challenge but you can find the sketch for last week's <a href="http://www.cardchallenges.com/search/label/sketchchallenge?updated-max=2016-10-12T08:00:00-04:00&max-results=20&start=1&by-date=false" target="_blank">here</a><br />
<br />
Anyway, I had some grandiose idea about what I wanted to do and here's a glimpse of it in the planning stage<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjOFq2bILX4UOi04r6CvlzCkvD_Q1EHpKsvdvfm1TH9775ZOSFdruxVqg12Uw1Akj8iWF1Y9lFL1710gCiJWM3-cy9scYLlLA2c-1OPnsPCdbC5zGWiZVhICuky6Rlc_ph6Jm9tH4GGCsvV/s1600/bearcardplan.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjOFq2bILX4UOi04r6CvlzCkvD_Q1EHpKsvdvfm1TH9775ZOSFdruxVqg12Uw1Akj8iWF1Y9lFL1710gCiJWM3-cy9scYLlLA2c-1OPnsPCdbC5zGWiZVhICuky6Rlc_ph6Jm9tH4GGCsvV/s320/bearcardplan.jpg" width="180" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
It was going to be a tri-fold card. But, alas, time ran out for me and I couldn't quite figure out how to execute my design idea in time, so I ended up with this card:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhSnIMRXH-DbOUk2NOdulmEPRNE02ftRwwv80ecVgoac33QqU8z4jskkzVW6IRXtMH8_SNRmUPkN-zD_ZjKP-IyQUogwP277cGR-nb4l77x499-lUgiNU09zAGvDWCrIJPFCZsTlwMI4Nx7/s1600/bearcard1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhSnIMRXH-DbOUk2NOdulmEPRNE02ftRwwv80ecVgoac33QqU8z4jskkzVW6IRXtMH8_SNRmUPkN-zD_ZjKP-IyQUogwP277cGR-nb4l77x499-lUgiNU09zAGvDWCrIJPFCZsTlwMI4Nx7/s320/bearcard1.jpg" width="180" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
It ended up being a regular side-fold card with a peek-a-boo window. I used a different image from the same stamp set - it's the Beary Special Birthday stamp set - and I think it turned out sweet. It would be a really cute little boy's birthday card, I think.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiLkGNhB5NMeCBNgxwDdLnSY6cf28Ntd6pauu59GocBWXlPMNV65GHHfyQ8nEO2L2HqGHADHlRZ_FGFjQmQuaIcNy8wF2RMp35AHONRDdeW7ODrSEf-PRCyN0JyT63aVskZ3vtVfN9MSMZq/s1600/bearcard4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiLkGNhB5NMeCBNgxwDdLnSY6cf28Ntd6pauu59GocBWXlPMNV65GHHfyQ8nEO2L2HqGHADHlRZ_FGFjQmQuaIcNy8wF2RMp35AHONRDdeW7ODrSEf-PRCyN0JyT63aVskZ3vtVfN9MSMZq/s320/bearcard4.jpg" width="180" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I used a SSS stencil for the stars and masked a section to create the lines with Tim Holtz distress inks.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I forgot to write down the colors but I used warm greys to color the bear with Spectrum Noir markers. I was going to also use this card to join the MFT color challenge, but then felt it needed a pop of color and added the red circle frame. Here's the inside:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>

<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Well, that's my entry for this week. I'm off to create something for next week's challenge. Hope you have a chance to join in the fun, too.</div>

<br />
Thought I'd share a project I finished yesterday and see if I can get back into the swing of writing a few blog posts now and then. My, how I've neglected this blog. But I'm super excited to share this project. I call it a dimensional card but I'm not sure if it's a card? I suppose you could call it a diorama. So, what happened was that I watched <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3_SDRCBfVM4" target="_blank">this tutorial by Kelly Latevola</a> and decided I wanted to try my hand at free-style coloring some curtains. She used copics while I used spectrum noir markers but I was really very pleased with the results considering it was my first time trying something like that. Getting started was really the most intimidating part.<br />

Well, so then I decided I'd try to shade the scallop edges cause they just looked too white and flat. I realized that shading white things is not my thing. lol. Definitely need more practice with that technique but it wasn't bad enough for me to toss the entire piece.</div>

I'd been itching to use the new stamp set by MFT called "Hog Heaven" which I purchased not too long ago from Jamie in her Not2Shabby shop <a href="http://www.not2shabbyshop.com/" target="_blank">here</a>. It has the cutest little piggies and one of them has WINGS people!!! Well, I thought a flying piggie would make for a pretty amazing show and add to that some dramatic curtains and VOILA!....</div>

That's what I came up with and it's also my contribution for World Card Making Day. I originally planned on using foam tape to add dimension but it just wasn't enough. I felt like this card and the scene I had in my head needed more dimension and depth and it would require way more foam tape than I was willing to spare. So, I created an accordion style frame that's about 4-5 folds deep (7 score marks spaced at 1/4"). Had I watched <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m4e3TpeU6w0" target="_blank">this tutorial</a>, or something like it, I probably would have struggled less and it would look slightly less wonky, but overall, I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out. You can't tell, but the flying piggy is actually suspended by a thin thread so he dangles to and fro. lol. He spins so I really need to add a mirror image but I didn't have time.</div>

Used the cloud die from the ME Landscape Trio die set and MFT's grassy hills die. Also, used a Tim Holtz stencil for the sun rays and had some wood grain patterned papers that I used for the stage floor and for the fence (I simply stamped the fence image onto the paper and fussy cut it out). I also fussy cut the piggies...and the curtains...you probably already figured that out. lol</div>
